In this case, your system will not work in case of a power cut or grid failure, as the solar panels are disconnected to the grid That is because your solar system generates energy and sends any excess energy to the grid. This die down in case of power cuts is critical for safety, as back feeding into the grid could potentially cause injury to someone.

    Yes, you can, if you are in any of the 13 states that have notified their Green Energy Open Access rules. Under these new rules that were announced in June, 2022 by the centre, all customers, with requirements as low as 100 kW are eligible to apply for green energy through open access.

    It mainly depends on the promptness of the local discoms in granting persmissions, the cooperation of your vendor and the response of the National Rooftop Portal in processing the response. In case there is no meter load enchancement need, the whole process usually takes 30-60 days in most states. In states like Gujarat the whole process often gets done within one month. In case a person wants to increase the sanctioned capacity, this process alone takes one extra month besides normal rooftop solar installation time. But the meter load enchacement request is often made before applying for rooftop solar.
