Under Component-A, farmers in Assam can lease their land to set up small solar power plants (up to 2 MW) near 33/11 kV substations. This allows farmers to earn extra income from their land while contributing to clean energy production. The 357 MW project by Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) aims to make this opportunity accessible to farmers across the state.

It depends on the sector of solar we talk about. Like for residential rooftop solar, govt gives subsidies of around Rs 78,000 for a 3 Kw system. In case of large projects, there are other incentives through Green Energy Open Access, incentives in transmission, land banks, plug and play services etc.

Component-A focuses on setting up decentralized, grid-connected solar power plants up to 2 MW capacity each, primarily on barren or unused farmland. These plants help generate clean electricity locally and feed it into the grid.

Later major solar module makers started making mono-PERC technology based solar modules which could offer effiiencies of around 21%. Now the country is slowly moving to TOPCon technology which offers efficiencies higher than mono-PERC. Another advancement had been was in bringing more Wp panels. Now India has panels having a maximum Wp power of upto 680Wp. Higher Wp power means that to generate the same amount of solar power we would need lesser number of panels as a single higher power panel can produce enough power.
