    Consumers who want to apply for the connections under the scheme can apply through the National Rooftop Solar Portal also called PM Surya Ghar Portal. Here the consumers need to make an online account with their mobile number and OTP, fill the form and submit their applications. Application is freeRead more

    Consumers who want to apply for the connections under the scheme can apply through the National Rooftop Solar Portal also called PM Surya Ghar Portal. Here the consumers need to make an online account with their mobile number and OTP, fill the form and submit their applications. Application is free of cost. After the application, the local power distribution company takes up the Feaibility Report and after that the consumer cabn choose their vendors who can install the project. Consumers also need to fill their bank account details and the government gives subsidies after the commissiong of the project. The subsidies comes after around 30days-45 days. Consumers can also track the status of their project and disbursement of the subsidies with this portal.

    No. The govt regulated entities like your local discom plays the role of granting permissions. But the actual installation of rooftop solar is done by private companies. You can select your company based on your choice in the National Rooftop Portal during your application.

    If you want to apply for residential rooftop solar project and live anywhere in India, you are entitled for a central govt subsidy of Rs 78,000/- if you are planning a project of upto 3kW or more.     If you want to apply for residential rooftop solar project and live anywhere in India, you are entitled for a central govt subsidy of Rs 78,000/- if you are planning a project of upto 3kW or more. However, in case your state gives you additional susbsidy, you can get more. For example, a UP resident for a 3kW system can get Rs 78,000/- from MNRE and Rs 30,000/- from UPNEDA (UP govt). So, in total you will get Rs 1,08,000/- for a 3kW system or a system more than 3kW. It is because there is a ceiling for connections after 3kW.

    To boost the integration of solar power with the Indian grid, the Indian government is promoting on-grid rooftop solar through PM Surya Ghar where special subsidies are given to promote consumers to install rooftop solar. In this system, the surplus (unused) solar power from these systems are injected into the grid. In case of large solar projects, these large amount of solar power are injected into the grid to make the grid more green. Large scale solar projects has also made solar power cheaper than power coming from polluting sources like coal.

    12 years product warranty and 30 years performance warranty. Repair/ replacement happens as per the type of defect and associated RCA. Replacement takes up to 90 days from the date of defect confirmation and repair happens immediately soon after identification.
